Dr. Rakesh Kumar V is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with close to a decade of experience, with focused expertise in knee arthroplasty, complex trauma, and musculoskeletal oncology. He brings a balanced clinical profile suited for corporate hospital practice, combining high-volume orthopaedic care with advanced oncologic surgical capabilities.
He has undergone dedicated fellowship training in Musculoskeletal Oncology at Max Super Speciality Hospital, New Delhi, a high-volume tertiary referral center, where he gained extensive exposure to complex tumor surgeries and multidisciplinary cancer care. During this period, he was actively involved in limb salvage procedures, tumor resections, and advanced reconstructions, including total femur replacement, hemipelvectomy, scapular resections, and modular tumor prosthesis implantation.
As part of his oncology training, Dr. Rakesh also contributed to charitable surgical services at Mahavir Cancer Sansthan, Patna, through regular clinical visits, where he was involved in providing limb salvage and tumor surgeries for underprivileged patients. This experience strengthened his ability to deliver high-quality care across diverse healthcare settings.
Earlier in his career, he worked at MGM Healthcare, Chennai, a leading quaternary care corporate hospital, where he was involved in advanced trauma management and bilateral knee arthroplasty procedures. This experience provided him with strong exposure to structured surgical systems, high-end operative setups, and protocol-driven patient care typical of corporate healthcare environments.
In his subsequent consultant roles across multispecialty hospitals in Bengaluru and Chennai, he has independently managed trauma, arthroplasty, and elective orthopaedic cases, including OPD services, surgical planning, and postoperative rehabilitation. He has significant experience in primary and revision knee arthroplasty, management of polytrauma, pathological fractures, and emergency orthopaedics.
His clinical approach aligns well with international healthcare systems, with emphasis on protocol-driven care, multidisciplinary coordination, patient outcomes, and efficient surgical workflows. He routinely collaborates with oncologists, radiologists, and rehabilitation teams to ensure comprehensive and evidence-based patient management.
Dr. Rakesh’s academic background includes experience as Assistant Professor in Orthopaedics, where he was involved in teaching, research, and training of undergraduate and postgraduate students. He has also contributed to peer-reviewed orthopaedic research and maintains a strong interest in osteointegration and biological reconstruction techniques.
He is certified in ACLS and BLS provider, and is an active member of professional bodies including the Indian Orthopaedic Association, State Orthopaedic Association , and the Association of Spine Surgeons of India.
